"Jessie" became the network's most-watched premiere on a Friday since September 2008

It’s A Laugh Productions, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, is in production on the family sitcom for Disney Channel titled "Jessie". Auditions are ongoing through for the series guest stars, day players, and extras. Making its official debut on the Disney Channel on September 30, 2011, the series became the network's most-watched premiere on a Friday since September 2008, when The Suite Life On Deck debuted. The show is being taped at L.A. Center Studios, and the extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles are all being cast in Los Angeles.
The show stars Debby Ryan playing the title role of a rural Texas teen who becomes an au pair to a rich couple with "difficult" kids. Debby Ryan is an amazingly talented 17 year old actor, singer, songwriter, and musician (plays piano and guitar) who started acting at the age of seven. Ryan has become one of the most admired and popular talents of her generation. She is an outstanding role model for young people, spending her spare time at Ronald McDonald House to help raise money for kids in need, and is involved in Disney's "Friends for Change" charity where kids can help choose how Disney will invest $1 million in environmental programs.
Pamela Eells O'Connell is creater/writer/executive producer of "Jessie". O'Connell has been nominated twice for Primetime Emmy Awards and has served as writer and/or executive producer of such huge hit shows as "Family Matters," "Mad about You," "The Nanny," "Married with Children," "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," "The Suite Life on Deck," and the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie "The Suite Life Movie".
Richard Correll will direct the pilot episode, and an unknown number of additional "Jessie" episodes. Correll has directed numerous episodes for series that Pamela Eells O'Connell has executive produced, as well as writing and/or directing several other Disney Channel series and movies such as "Cory in the House," "That's So Raven," "Hannah Montana," and "Hannah Montana: The Movie".
Minors and foreign talent must be legally eligible to work in the state of California and in the United States to work on the Disney XD show "Jessie".

Story:
Jessie (Debby Ryan), fresh out of small-town Texas, moves to New York City, determined to be a brilliant success - as soon as she figures out what she wants to do.
