Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Unleashed’ casting calls

Off-Leash Tele Productions and Front Street Productions are set to begin production on the Disney Channel Original Movie Unleashed based on the children’s novel by Leslie Margolis.

The Disney casting director is auditioning teen and adult actors for starring, co-starring, supporting, and day player roles. In addition, the extras casting director is hiring general extras and featured background actors throughout production. Shooting will run from August 12, 2013 through September 16, 2013 and will take place in Vancouver.

“Unleashed” centers on young Annabelle, who returns from summer camp and finds that her life is totally different. She’s moving to a new house with her mom and mom’s new geeky boyfriend, and that means a brand-new school. Birchwood Middle School is very different from her old all-girls elementary – the boys practically run wild in the hallways. Their surprise gift of a puppy, Annabelle realizes, is their attempt to “bribe” her into liking the new arrangements, but she loves the puppy anyway. The new puppy begins taking over the house and chewing on her clothes. But the puppy came with a training manual, so Annabelle might be able to get one thing under control. Until she decides to use the puppy training techniques on the teenage boys in school!

Starring in “Unleashed” is three-time Young Artist Awards nominee Zendaya Coleman playing the role of Annabelle. Zendaya has starred in the hit Disney Channel series “Shake It Up!” since it’s first season playing the sweet book-smart dancer Rocky Blue. Disney has announced that “Shake It Up!” has been cancelled after three seasons. Zendaya also appeared in the Disney Channel shows “Good Luck Charlie” and “A.N.T. Farm,” and had a lead role in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Frenemies”. She is also a very talented singer who is signed with Disney’s Hollywood Records, and her solo album is set to drop September 17, 2013.

Four-time Leo Awards nominee Peter DeLuise is directing “Unleashed” from a teleplay based on the novel by author Leslie Margolis. DeLuise began acting on TV shows in 1983 and came into prominence on the hit Fox series “21 Jump Street” starring with Johnny Depp. Peter appeared in several films over the years such as “Free Ride” with Alan Baltes, “Listen to Me” with Kirk Cameron, and “Rescue Me” starring opposite Stephen Dorff. DeLuise has an impressive list of television movie and series directorial credits including “The Outer Limits,” “Andromeda,” “Level Up,” “Sanctuary,” and 56 episodes of “Stargate SG-1″ among many others.

Gemini Awards nominee Lisa Towers will produce “Unleashed”. She has enjoyed much success in the entertainment industry as producer, executive producer, production manager and line producer. Her television movie credits include “A Christmas Romance” starring Olivia Newton-John, “Harvey” starring Leslie Nielsen, “Captains Courageous” with Robert Urich, and the Primetime Emmy Award nominated “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” starring Jeff Daniels and Jon Voight. Towers’ feature film credits include “Barely Legal” starring Amy Smart, “Arctic Blue” starring Rutger Hauer, “Magic in the Water” with Mark Harmon, and “Kevin of the North” starring Skeet Ulrich and Natasha Henstridge. Two-time Gemini Awards nominee Harvey Kahn will executive produce “Unleashed” for his company Front Street Pictures, which is based in Vancouver.

Story:

Annabelle’s all-girls elementary was very different from Birchwood Middle School where the boys run through the halls like wild animals. But with a little experimenting, Annabelle realizes that like her new puppy, maybe boys can be trained too. “Unleashed” features Annabelle’s hilarious take on friendship, boys, and her all-new life, while capturing the joy—and agony—of junior high school.
