Best Friends Whenever centers on lifelong best friends Gwen and Ever, who spend every minute together. These two couldn’t be closer. While visiting the home laboratory of their genius next-door neighbor, Shane McShane, the girls get zapped by an experimental
machine, causing them to become unstuck in time. Right after Gwen gets asked to a dance by Cameron, the boy of her dreams, the girls suddenly leap back in time to that morning. Now they must get Cameron to ask Gwen again! Only one problem: this time he asks Ever. Gwen is furious that her BFF has stolen her date. But when the girls leap forward in time, they witness a future where they are no longer friends. Realizing that their friendship is more important than any boy, Gwen and Ever must work together to return to the present and set things right.
Best Friends Whenever is being executive produced and written by Daytime Emmy Awards nominees Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas. Elinoff and Thomas are no stranger to creating and producing projects for Disney, having created Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja for Disney XD. They also wrote the teleplay for the ABC Family Movie The Mistle-Tones, and executive produced and wrote the Nickelodeon TV movie Bad Fairy.
