Disney Channel has given the green light for a brand new single-camera comedy television series pilot called “Andiland”, and casting calls are underway for starring, guest starring, possible recurring, and day player roles. The series introduces Andi Marcus as she’s about to celebrate her 13th birthday. She’s eager to have a little teenage fun and adventure — just a little — but that may never happen because her strict mother is doing everything in her power to keep Andi from turning out like her older sister, Bex. As a teenager, Bex dropped out of school, left home and now, in her late 20s, still doesn’t know what she wants out of life. But when Bex returns home and swears she is ready to get her life together, Andi’s life is turned upside down and leaves her questioning everything she’s ever known.
“Andiland” is executive produced and created by Terri Minsky, who also was creator of the first blockbuster hit show for Disney Channel, “Lizzie McGuire” which starred newcomer Hillary Duff. Michelle Manning will also executive produce. Manning was also executive producer on the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Adventures in Babysitting”. Starring in “Andiland” is newcomer Peyton Elizabeth Lee playing the role of Andi Marcus. Lee’s only two previous credits are playing small roles in one episode of the ABC television series “Scandal”, and a few episodes of the Showtime series “Shameless”.
Shooting on “Andiland” gets underway in January, 2016 in Los Angeles, CA.
