Disney Channel has officially picked up the brand new comedy television series “Andi Mack” to a 13-episode season 1 order. Casting calls are underway for new starring, co-starring, recurring, and day player roles. Currently there is a casting call for male and female kids and adults, details below. The show will air on Disney Channel in 2017. Production is taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah through mid-December, 2016. This television series is being filmed using digital motion picture cameras, and will not be taped before a live-audience.

The story introduces Andi Marcus as she’s about to celebrate her 13th birthday. She’s eager to have just a little teenage fun and adventure, but that may never happen because her strict mother is doing everything in her power to keep her from turning out like her older sister, Bex, who dropped out of school as a teenager and left home and now, in her late 20s, still doesn’t know what she wants out of life – but when Bex returns home and promises she is ready to get her life together, Andi’s life is turned upside down and leaves her questioning everything she’s ever known.

Starring in “Andi Mack” is Peyton Elizabeth Lee in the title role. Lee’s only two previous credits are playing small roles in one episode of the ABC television series “Scandal”, and a few episodes of the Showtime series “Shameless”. Also starring in Andi Mack is Lilan Bowden as Bex Mack, five-time BTVA Television Voice Acting Award winner Lauren Tom as Andi’s mother Celia, three-time Young Artist Awards nominee Joshua Rush as Andi’s friend Cyrus, and Asher Angel as Jonah.

Writers Guild of America WGA Award nominee Terri Minsky is creator and executive producer, and will serve as showrunner. Minsky was the creator and executive producer of the Disney Channel pop-culture phenomenon series “Lizzie McGuire”. Also serving as executive producer on “Andy Mack” is Michelle Manning.
