Background Actors Casting Information

15

Many people have contacted me asking about how to get work in their local area as an extra on Disney Channel and other film and television productions. Therefore, I have launched a new website with information on how to obtain extra work locally. Doing extra work is a great way to get some credits for an acting resume, as well as becoming familiar and comfortable working on a set in various environments such as commercials, films, soaps, at a studio, and on-location. I started out working as an extra, and it was a wonderful training ground for eventually working as an actor.

Film Commissions are used by many Film and Television productions to hire extras and crew members in local communities throughout the United States and International Countries. Their websites often have information for talent regarding casting notices for background talent. I will be listing many more Film Commissions for your local areas, including International Commissions as time permits. I will also be contacting each Film Commission to obtain extras casting call information. That way they will know that people serious and informed about working as an extra will be attending the casting calls.

Here is a link to the new website.

  4. I’m living in Montreal, Canada, and “Central Casting” is just for New York and Los Aneles. Can you find something else for me?

  5. Hello, I am looking for an agent and just want to know if you have to pay the agent when you are not doing any acting yet. If so, how much?

  6. I live in SC and I am wondering how I can find out about casting calls that I can attend? Thanks

  7. I live in Houston, Texas and i cant really find auditions around my area for Disney Channel. Can you help me?

    -Zena

  8. Hi Alan. My name is Melissa, I’m from New York and I am 23 years old. I sent a resume and headshot in to the Disney Channel Casting Directors for HSM3 and J.O.N.A.S. The only problem is I can’t get an agent right now. I have a lot of talent in singing, acting and dancing, I do great community theater, and I look about 17 years old. I KNOW that I would get a call if they only saw me in person because I have the personality to work for Disney.

Please tell me where to go from here. I am in graduate school but if I did get an audition I would fly out. I just don’t want to fly out on a whim hoping for something that won’t come. I have to be realistic and stay in my masters program until I know for sure. Please steer me in the right direction. I’m running out of time for HSM3 casting and I have such a passion to be a part of it.

Are they still going to do open casting calls??

Thank you for your time. 🙂

  9. hey alan!
i’m Angelica. I live in Toronto, Canada. and similar to Beatrice’s dilemma, Central Casting is only for NY and LA. So,if it isn’t too much to ask, could you find me one too?

    Thank you for your time!

    Sincerely
    Angelica
